"We Dare To Believe"

Daily Bible Verse

God is good! He has answered the prayer of many people concerning the new church roof in Mexico. Thank you all so very much for your prayers and support of the MLS pastors and their precious congregations in Mexico, India, and right here in the USA. We will continue to update you on the progress at Rey de Reyes (King of Kings) church in Sonora, Mexico. The people are so excited to have a new roof on their church building that will keep them dry for another fifty years. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Once again, thank you so much for sharing the abundant wealth our Heavenly Father has given us. And of course, don't forget the greatest gift of all, the gift of His Son Jesus Christ.

May the peace that passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

In His love,

Louis Escobedo Jr.

Today was a very special day. A day of remembrance, a day to acknowledge and reflect on the life of pastor Jose Flores Enriquez. Our Creator must have had an important assignment for my friend pastor Jose Flores to take him so soon, August 19,2016.

Even though Jose will not be here with us on earth anymore, we know the gift of eternal life promised to us through His Son our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Please join with us in prayer as we lift up the Flores family, friends, and loved ones. And especially our new pastor of Rey de Reyes church in Nogales Sonora Mexico, Jose Luis Flores.

Yes, you guessed it. Pastor Jose has been teaching, mentoring, and shaping his son to shepherd the Rey de Reyes congregation! Praise God! He is a young, clean cut, disciplined leader, with a beautiful voice and even plays the guitar. Most importantly he has the love of God in his heart and it shows.

Please pray for this very special group of loving people, and if you are able to help support their ministry, they certainly could use your help.

My prayer is that God will touch your heart and cause you to help fill their needs.

In His service,
Louis Escobedo Jr.

The Enemy Wants to Tear Down What Has Been Built

In August 1964, Rev. Louis and Dorothea Escobedo were given a vision that included Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. There were many obstacles to overcome: learning our language, understanding our culture, and dealing with our poverty. Nothing is impossible with God so, faith and faith's persistence prevailed.

There have been many heroes through the years, a few are: Ines Flores, Alberto Pereida, Elizabeth Hair, Manuel Esquer, Manuel Franco, Fco Huerta, Juan Jocobi, and Jesus Prado. These people are important in the history of our ministry. I could name many more. We will always praise our Lord for the sacrifices they made. It's because of them we have a field to work in today.

On Easter Sunday, we had several services from sunrise through the afternoon. Attendance was good and we were encouraged. We offered an Easter breakfast of burritos, coffee and juice. All of Holy Week was excellent. People want to improve both economically and spiritually.

One story I must tell is about a man who stole our church's heater before Holy Week. He came to church to apologize. I had prepared a sermon on the Prodigal Son. I believe God allows these circumstances to put into practice His work of forgiveness. What could we do but accept his apology? Rev. Escobedo often reminded me that the most important thing to do is to preach the Gospel. Through all of our difficulties we have done this. We hope to continue to grow and are presently in a campaign to invite new people.

We have big problems but our Lord Jesus has solutions—the enemy will not destroy what God has done so far. Pray for us.

~Rev. Jose Flores Enriquez of Mexico

To: Pastor Jose Flores and Rey de Reyes Nogales, Sonora, Mexico

Greetings from Louis Jr. and Christy Escobedo!

We have arrived from Boise, Idaho and are making our new home here in Tucson, Arizona. We feel that God has called us back to Arizona to carry on the work that my earthly father, Rev. Louis A. Escobedo and mother, Dorothea M. Escobedo begun in 1963.

Rey de Reyes Lutheran Church in Nogales, Sonora is a very special place! You have been victorious against all odds; your church is still conducting services and your doors are still open! I have personally witnessed churches here in America that are being split apart by the enemy and even closed down. As you know, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy" (John 10:10), but Jesus came that we might have LIFE!

Rey de Reyes has life because Jesus is represented in each of your lives. He lives in your hearts. He was sent to earth by His Father over 2000 years ago and His Spirit is still living in you and I today! There is one Message, one Lord, and one Salvation ... and His Name is JESUS.

And so today, you are victorious, your church doors remain open, your pastor Jose Enriquez Flores continues to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, despite all the trials and all the tribulation --- JESUS always remains our comfort, peace, and refuge.

Be filled with His Spirit, Hope, and Love. God bless each and every one of you. We look forward to seeing you very soon.

In Christ's Love and Service,

Mando (Louis Jr.) and Christy Escobedo
